July rain above average

Having mentioned football in the rain, it’s worth noting Mount Gambier has already had more than its average rain for July in the month so far.

The city had recorded 101mm until 9am today. The long-term average for July is 99mm.

Waiting for winter to end

Winter in Australia isn’t cold compared with most parts of North America and Europe.

However, in Mount Gambier at least it’s cool enough and rains a lot.

I got chillblains for the first time in years and the kids have had enough. After two years in arid, hot Kalgoorlie they want a change.

It will never get as hot here, but the rain should stop in a couple of months … hopefully.

Snow starting to fall

Snow is finally starting to fall in the Victorian Alps. After a sluggish start to the ski season it now appears there might be some white suff on the slopes this weekend.

Climate change is undeniable. The question is whether it’s caused by emissions or some natural event.

The winters in Australia have become much milder in my lifetime.
