The ice-cream van made its first appearance in Mount Gambier today. That means it must be summer.
I used to judge the seasons by daylight saving. But it started earlier this year when it was still cold and wet. I don’t understand why.
It was warm today (28 degrees) and I reckon they’ll be selling a few ice creams. It’s going to be 15 degrees tomorrow though.
My old mate Bill Ronald copped a spray in the Pakenham Leader for using the mayoral car to take his family on a 9000km round trip to Sydney and Darwin.
I wouldn’t do that if I were mayor, but as one of the commenters said, Bill has always been “a bit of a rebel”.
Bill is looking a bit older than when we were in Young Nats together, but who am I to talk?
I was at a formal dinner on Saturday night. Two of the people at my table had an intelligent conversation about art.
They both liked paintings by a particular Aboriginal artist I had never heard of.
I appreciate good art, but not to the level that I can have an in-depth discussion. It was interesting to hear.
The Herald Sun reports: “Three people are dead and two have serious injuries after a single car accident on the Hume Freeway in northern Victoria last night.”
Life is precarious. Nobody has any control over a tree falling on them or a meteorite dropping out of the sky on their head. I’ve driven past the location of this tragedy dozens of times.
